First, a little history:
What is now St. Andrews Farms is a small piece of what was formerly one of the largest cattle, hog, and poultry operations in the state.
The buildings on site today, including the original house and several out buildings, date back to the early 1900's! The barn was moved to this location sometime in the 50's. Known as the Jenkins place, located 1/2 mile N. of what was once the town of St. Andrews, Wa. (which was destroyed by fire June 5th, 1923) the ranch was abandoned in the early 60's and sat vacant until the family decided to sell most of the 1100+ acres to a developer in 1998. My family originally purchased 160 acres, our ranch now encompasses over 1000 acres (owned and leased) and future options on hundreds of additional acres which will be used in our custom haying, grazing, and breeding program. Nestled between Haynes and Stallard lakes, the sun rises and sets over water, creating spectacular views in all directions!
Being members of organizations like the American Angus Association, allows us access to the very best genetics the Angus breed has to offer, which we then utilize in our Artificial Insemination (AI) and Embryo Transfer (ET) programs. Not only do we produce fantastic breeding stock (Bulls, replacement Heifers and feeder calves) but also amazing “All Natural Beef”, which we sell in Health food stores, Restaurants, sides and samples for home delivery, as well as the local school district.
Our goals here are simple. We strive for excellence by using only the best of the Angus breed through AI and ET. We make sure that even the work is fun, especially when working with the animals. We handle our cattle in a Holistic, low stress manner that makes for a safe environment for all involved.
